Michael Jackson

Today I watched video footage of Michael Jackson’s last days of concert rehearsal before his untimely death. He was still quintessentially, Mike. In all the ways that you could possibly think of, he looked good. Healthy, alert and going strong…which we now know was a bit of a façade. But like all of the greats that we have ever come to “know” we have found that we never really know them entirely. The dancing was immaculate and so innovative, a few of the new songs displayed were socially conscience with a great hook and poppy beat. It was all we could have ever wanted or asked for from the man himself, at least in my humble opinion. It made me reflect back on my life and all the moments I had linked to Mike. It made me very emotional and made me really for the first time appreciate all that he was to the world, this country, and the average person. He appealed to everybody old, young, black, white, rich and poor. And that is something no matter who you are and what your controversy story might be of him you can’t deny. He was a man of the people even when he stepped back from them. A man. A performer. A legend.
