Changes

I was aware that life throws you curve balls. What I wasn't aware of is how many and how fast you can really recover and make the best out of those situations. In the past two months my life has done a complete 180. And to be completely honest I didn't think I had it in me to deal with any of it. I always seem to underestimate my own power and determination. Well not any longer!! I am back in life! I have grabbed ahold of my own life reigns and decided that I and I alone will make the decisions from here on out. I mean why not? I am completely capable of doing it... right? RIGHT! So in the past two months I've gotten back into the workforce, reconnected with old friends, made new friends, started to go out and enjoy life and even took a mini weekend vacation! I mean that might not sound like a lot to anyone else but for me it is like I have just started living my adult years. Making a conscience effort to live and let live, to be happy and enjoy what I have and focus on getting what I want and realizing that it is all possible! For the first time ever I am excited about what the future has to offer and that makes my soul soar. I am in love with life and who I am and who I am growing to be. I am ready to take it all on and be happy without any excuses. Because ultimately I am in control of my own destiny and I will accept nothing but the best. As I sit here in a coffee shop and watch the snow lightly fall over the city I feel light hearted and confident that the future is going to hold vast new opportunities and surprises. All of which I will accept with open arms!

Back To School!

Eek! I mean I haven't been out of school that long but somehow I managed to forget all of the joys of the process of going back. I spent a good 1/2 of my day talking with 1/2 wits at the Department of Ed, who unlike what others had said were quite nice but just not very keen on problem solving. Although I was surprised when I called my old high school that they already had handled all of my transcript problems. A glimmer of hope in the day. But then I spent the rest of the day trying to figure out how to pay off a couple of student loans that went default to no fault of my own. Trying to reach the offices of the organization(which shall remain nameless) that is supposed to be paying them was in short a disaster. I mean really how hard is it to keep your website updated and have valid extension numbers for employees. But alas it is almost dinner time. And being the foodie that I am I am highly excited for this meal! And s'mores later by the fire. It's the small things in life that keep me from going virtually insane at the end of the day. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit more productive in the loan department so that by my meeting at the school Saturday I can just be worried about the classes I need to take. Ah the wonders of the education system in this country. One has to love it...

Back In The Real World!

Wow it took me quite a while to even be able to access this blog again.  It has been that long.  I finally got my Mac back today and I am thrilled!  So more or less this post is a forewarning that I am going to be getting into the blogging swing of things asap.  But because it is so incredibly late and I am starting to close my eyes just typing this I am going to officially start later today.  From then on I believe I will be a blogging queen(of sorts).

I just don't get it...

I am getting fed up with the people who refuse to move from the high-speed lane on the highway to the travel lane. I mean seriously you CANNOT go 45-50 in the high-speed lane…you are messing up the entire flow of traffic for anybody with half a brain! And I suppose for those of you participating in this frustrating act you wouldn’t understand how infuriating it is so this really is falling on deaf ears but it’s a point worth making for my piece of mind...

Michael Jackson

Today I watched video footage of Michael Jackson’s last days of concert rehearsal before his untimely death. He was still quintessentially, Mike. In all the ways that you could possibly think of, he looked good. Healthy, alert and going strong…which we now know was a bit of a façade. But like all of the greats that we have ever come to “know” we have found that we never really know them entirely. The dancing was immaculate and so innovative, a few of the new songs displayed were socially conscience with a great hook and poppy beat. It was all we could have ever wanted or asked for from the man himself, at least in my humble opinion. It made me reflect back on my life and all the moments I had linked to Mike. It made me very emotional and made me really for the first time appreciate all that he was to the world, this country, and the average person. He appealed to everybody old, young, black, white, rich and poor. And that is something no matter who you are and what your controversy story might be of him you can’t deny. He was a man of the people even when he stepped back from them. A man. A performer. A legend.

Confused

So with the advice from a wise friend I decided to switch gears. That is from Twitter to blogging. More or less because the idea of being short and concise is a little bit too much for me to grasp. But in the process of doing this whole bit I was feeling a bit overwhelmed...for a girl with so much technology I sure could use a day of figuring out how to put it all to work with the most potential. In any case here goes...

Today was a great day aside from the ridiculous amount of rain and wind that came down upon us. I mean for the love of God how much more can we possibly take?? July 1st and I'm wearing a sweater, pants and closed toe heels to the office!! C'mon! But I digress...I did get to have a nice lunch with my sister Kate and a lovely family dinner out with the Mama and Kate. And as odd is it may sound it was nice to organize and clean up the room that somehow turns out to be a complete cyclone if I don't pick up everything the minute I use it...
